ARTICLE 4. Physical Education Specialist Pilot Program |

There is hereby established the Physical Education Specialist Program, to be administered by the State Department of Education, for the purpose of providing funding to school districts to maintain a physical education specialist program. The department shall establish criteria for the selection of the applicant school districts to participate in the program. School districts that are selected to participate shall be required, as a condition for the receipt of funding, to comply with all of the requirements prescribed by this article. Each school district participating in the program shall be eligible to receive a one-time grant in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each elementary school served by a physical education specialist. Program funds shall be used for the purchase of equipment necessary for an elementary school physical education program. Each program participant shall be required to certify that funding shall only be used for elementary schools in the district that are served by physical education specialists.
