Polycarbonate resins manufactured after January 1, 1988, and intended for use in fabricating containers for water products defined in this article shall not contain in excess of three parts per million residual methylene chloride or in excess of 200 parts per million residual monochlorobenzene unless the department establishes a lower level by regulation. For the purpose of monitoring compliance with this section, the concentration of methylene chloride and monochlorobenzene shall not exceed one part per billion in water. "Polycarbonate resins" means the substances defined by Section 177.1580 o except as modified by this section.
