Members of the commission may be compensated at a rate not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100) for any day attending to the business of the commission, but not to exceed four hundred dollars ($400) in any month, and may be reimbursed for necessary travel and other expenses incurred in the performance of their duties, as authorized by the commission.
